New Friends

My friend, Matthew who I met in Facebook (we met twice and this is the third time) always told me that he wants to introduce his friend to me. He's like a matchmaker, telling me how good his friend is, and he wants us to meet, to make friends...

So finally, today Matthew invited me to a karaoke session with his wife and friends (including 'him'). Before the meet up, this guy had added me in his Facebook. Actually Matthew did arrange a few meet up before but I did not be able to attend due to some work in the office or home. So this time, I told myself, "Well, no harm to know a new friend!". So, finally I attended.

I was an hour late as I went to visit my grandma and got home late, then the accident that caused the jam on MRR2, and finally I waited so long to get a parking. When I was there, I felt awkward in the room as I'm the only stranger there. I tried so hard to relax myself and enjoy the moment but I was really so not used to it. I think this is one of my weakness when comes to socialize. After struggling hard for the 2 hours session, finally we all left, but moving to a mamak stall to continue the second round 'yamcha'. It was still the same, I was so quiet, didn't talk much and tried so hard to join their conversation. Well, I think I really tried my best already.

Finally after another one and a half hour, I got the chance to excuse myself to go home. Even though the whole night I really felt awkward as I was surrounded with people that I met the first time, except for Matthew, I'm glad to be invited to join them, and I'm glad to know the new friends.

And this guy... I don't know... so far I think he's OK, we can be friends. But I don't know what about him. :)
